Upcoming Events for the Portland Urban Sketchers!

Sat, Jan 26 from 11 am to 2 pm: We're having an Art Supply Swap at Pascale's studio in Oak Grove. This event will be a chance to give away any art supplies that you aren't using and would love to find good homes for. (Feel free to also bring any "show & tell" stuff that you think folks would enjoy.) The event will also be a potluck, yum yum!  Please RSVP to Katura at hikatura (at) gmail (dot) com so we can be sure to have enough plates and cups, etc. (New members who are not yet on the google group: Katura will send you directions to the event location when you RSVP.)

11:59 pm on February 1st is the deadline to post sketches on the blog for the current Scavenger Hunt! The sketcher with the most items posted from the list will win a fun prize, and we'll be pulling lots of the sketches from your contributions to make new banners for the blog and the Facebook page. Even if you don't manage to get all 15 items on the list drawn, it's still a great chance to challenge yourself to pack more sketching time into the next 12 days. Have fun! The winner will be announced via the blog.

Upcoming Third Saturday Sketchcrawls:

  • Saturday, February 16: Northwest District. Meet at 10 am at the Dragonfly Coffee House, 2387 NW Thurman Street.

  • Saturday, March 16: Pill Hill! OHSU. (Details TBD)

  • Saturday, April 20: North Portland, University of Portland campus. (Details TBD)

  • Saturday, May 18: Northeast Portland. Sketch the Ikea! (Details TBD)

Please note that we love "impromptu" sketching events as well. If you have a hankering to go sketch somewhere, and want to invite other folks to join, feel free to toss out an invitation on the google group. If there's a little advanced notice, we admin-types will try to get those up on the public blog in the future, as well, so new members and casual readers can have the opportunity to come play!
