University of Portland Sketch

Here's my sketch from the University of Portland. I was attracted to the cluster of trees and plantings by the side of the building. Didn't quite get the wonderful bright spring colors with my watercolors but it was a fun to meet everyone and to be outside and sketching.

    It seems to me very spring like. You have certainly achieved the 'new spring green' and I love the contrast against the dark purple shrubs.

    I remember seeing this one when we passed around the sketchbooks, and am really glad you posted the picture online too. The richness of color that you've captured in the foliage--whether it's traditional green or those surprising purple-red leaves--it is a delight to look at.
