Scavenger Hunt #13 and #14 - Art at a MAX Stop, Dog at a Dog Park
The first one is an elaborate bench at the Mississippi Max stop. I am looking at it from above. The sun was setting to my left while I waited for the Max last night. This bench has intricate designs inspired by nature.

Scavenger hunt #10 and #11
Here's my local library, local to my office anyway.
And here's a quick Benson Bubbler sketch. It did take more than a minute to add a little color and shading after the MAX started moving.

Scavenger hunt #8? And #oneweek100people2019
This is light media on a darkish background for the scanner hunt, plus a few more people for the 100 people challenge. I liked how lovey dovey this couple was.

Scavenger hunt #6, something under construction
After meeting with Rita about the Usk 10x10 kickoff, Deb and I went to Scrap. I found some fun things in there. Then I waited outside for the bus in the cold wind. I suffered a little bit for my art while drawing this street scene, which included a building under construction.

Scavenger hunt #4: spring blossoms
This is item #4 for me. It was too dark to draw this flowery branch in the wild, so I took it home with me.

Scavenger Hunt #3 - 2 people having a conversation / Fehrenbacher Hof
Item #3 - 2 people having a conversation
These 2 guys were sitting right behind a few of us Urban Sketchers who chose to stay inside the Hof. They were having a talk about hard things. I was impressed how open they were with each other.
I sketched them right when one of them arrived and took off his coat. That was before I was sitting right next to them and could overhear every word.

Scavenger hunt #2 - someone drinking coffee
Sketch #2
This person has coffee... I may do another where I catch someone in the act of drinking it. This coffee shop, Stacks, is full of books and book loving people. I have also witnessed a book loving child or two in here.

Scavenger Hunt Post #1 - ink drawing with no pencil underlay
I almost always draw with ink and no pencil underlay. So I feel like I'm cheating. But here we go... I sketched this interesting person on the bus last night.
Item 1: an ink drawing, done without a pencil underlay

Cherry Trees and highway spaghetti
The one above got some of my splatters, and some rain drop splatters.
It was lovely to spend time with you all and lovely to share coffee, pizza, and conversation.

Recent sketch outings
Today we had another amazing turnout in the Beaumont neighborhood. A big hearty welcome to all of you new people! Let's not leave anybody out though - lots of love to everyone in the group, newcomers, regulars, and returning faces.
I managed to draw one thing today in a brand new sketchbook. I learned a few things about my markers. Like, it's better to start with the light colors.
In the past month or so, I've gone to the Fields park a few times with some other sketchers. I mostly sketched from inside Ovation. Lots of people, quick sketching, trying to fill up the sketchbook.
A few weeks ago, I went with Drink and Draw to ^H, a new hacker space at 7600 N. Interstate. After drawing some people, I started drawing the fun geeky stuff they have there.
Mission accomplished - that sketchbook is full!

Sketching at the Chinese Garden
There's still free entry today to the Chinese Garden if you bring a can of food.
I went there on Thursday and Friday during my lunch break. Had some sun both days. Three other urban sketchers that I know of went too.

Recent sketch gatherings
Here's one from yesterday at PNCA's Big Draw.
This is Raven and Rose Restaurant near PSU, from the October Sketchcrawl.
And this one is from the September sketchcrawl at the waterfront.
Always great to see you all.

Director Park and Drink and Draw
These big chess pieces are fun to draw.
The building under construction doesn't look that big when there's all these trees around.
This is a sketch from the Portland Art Museum 2nd floor.
I'm making my way through all the sculptures I can catch from sitting on a bench. Forgot my stool - whoopsie.
