Transit Gala -- Orange Line Is Open and Views to the South

My efforts from Orange Line Day yesterday:

The trains preparing to leave the Park Place station on their first run to City Center. Hundreds were waiting in line to board! Happy applause when the first one pulled out. Tri Met booth, giant oak leaf sculpture, and 2 of the 3 trains waiting. Artistic license left out the third one.

Then later, on the bluff in Oregon City, a shabby view of the West Linn Paper Mill:

One weary cyclist, I headed home around 4-ish. Thanks for sharing a day, Sketchers!

National Train Day

Wow. The sun comes out in Portland, and the people of the city are eager for action! National Train day at Union Station was packed with folks of all ages. * Híjole. Cuando sale el sol in Portland, ¡la gente de la ciudad esten listos para celebrar! Un montón de gente asistieron el evento celebrando trenes en Union Station.

The historic steam engine had very long lines to tour the inside. I stayed on the platform and enjoyed the periodic blasts from the steam whistle. * Las colas para explorar adentro de la locomotora histórica eran muy largas. Me quedé en el andén del tren y disfruté de los soplos periodicos del silbato de vapor.

Tram and Streetcar

Aerial Tram and Streetcar from Saturday's sketchcrawl in the South Waterfront neighborhood. I'm not used to drawing shiny metal things! You can see a few tiny raindrops on the page. Autumn is on its way. * Dibujos del teleférico y el tranvía, dibujado en la adventura en el districto del South Waterfront el sábado pasado. ¡No estoy acostumbrada a dibujar tantas máquinas!
