Urban Sketching Workshop on Perspective with Jason Roberts on May 11

The next Urban Sketching workshop “Let’s Put It in Perspective: How to Accurately Represent Structures in Space” is on May 11 at 10:00am. If you ready to tackle architecture and street scenes in your sketches but feel intimidated by perspective this workshop is for you. If you already draw a lot of structures but despite your best intentions the result is a bit wonky this workshop is for you. If you need a refresher ahead of summer travel and sketching outdoors this workshop is for you. Jason Roberts, an architect by training and a long time urban sketcher will lead you through the series of steps to whip your architectural drawings into shape. We still have a couple of spots open. USK 10x10 Reporting from Portland Updates

Some highlights from our two past USK 10x10 Reporting from Portland series. On June 3rd we met for a lesson on drawing structures applying the principles of two point perspective and a step-by-step guide on drawing streets. Then a week later we reunited to draw multilayered panoramas learning the tricks for giving depth and complexity to our sketches.

Update on USK 10x10 Workshops

On Saturday we met at the Union Station for a class on one point perspective as it applies to drawing interior spaces. Jason Roberts did a great demo, and we saw quite a few "light bulbs go off". We meet again in two weeks to learn about two-point perspective and to apply these principles to drawing more complex city scenes. Plus a demo on how to draw modern glass architecture.
