River Rock
OK, this isn't urban, but I thought I might be able to slip it into the zoo sketches since I believe it looks a bit like a reclining elephant--or maybe a mammoth.
I've been drawing rocks and drawing on rocks. If you're in the mood for some end-of-summer sketches, they're on my blog. I've missed sketching with the group, but hope to see you at the next sketchcrawl. Until then, happy summer!

Amazing...it really does look lie a reclining elephant. Rock formations are sometimes like looking at cloud forms, you never know what you will see!
ReplyDeleteNicely done too on that toned paper that you and Andrea so excel in using.
Thanks, Deb. I agree with you about clouds and rocks. Sometimes trees do that, too.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to sketching with you again!
One of the things I love about this city is that rocky outcrops along the riverbank are totally part of the urban landscape! I'm really enjoying how you are looking at light and shadow in this sketch, and I'm going to blatantly post the link to your personal blog here so other people can see your other experiments in this realm: http://draw2c.blogspot.com/
