Sauvie Island
Our day of sketching on Sauvie Island was just glorious.......Sunny, warm and sightings of all kinds of birds (including the infamous "no eagle").
The first drawings of the day were from the dyke. First looking to the bridge and then in the opposite direction to a view of the fields.
Finally I traveled further out to the other end of the island and parked at the Island Cove Cafe (closed for the season) and got this view from the road. There really is a snow topped mountain out there but my scanner is not doing a good job of reproducing the subtleties....oh well.

Glorious! Love these views.
ReplyDeleteI love these.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katura and Andrea. It was a very satisfying day. Thank you Andrea for putting the outing together.
ReplyDeleteI agree, these are wonderful. I especially like the colors of the last one; a limited palette that captures the feeling of the winter landscape.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marianne. Watercolor is still a complete mystery to me and when I do get out the paint box it is truly a hit or miss experiment.
