The negative space/white of the paper that you left around the gold bits of the statue just GLOWS, it really makes the statue stand out as a radiant metallic shiny thing. Maybe they seem particularly right in in this wet weather we're having now. I know it was pretty damp when you drew at least one of those, too. These new techniques work so well with your style.
